Recruited into this new department with specific tasks for the development, design, manufacture and finally, successful commissioning of a 600kw Wind Turbine, a totally new product for the company. Responsible for setting up long term supply lines and negotiation of various government grants.

Dealing with all aspects of civil tunnelling contracts from initial quotation stage to final commissioning and customer support activities. In house management for Micro-Tunnelling projects.
1987 - 1989 Contract Engineer - Tunnelling
Reporting to the Project Director, responsibilities included the contract management of a multi-million pound contract for the supply of Tunnelling machines for the Channel Tunnel Project as part of the Robbins-Markham JV. Direct duties included procurement of equipment and placement of sub contract orders, supervision of testing, on site build and test, followed by successful commissioning. Main area of activity TBM back up systems.
