Rotherham-based engineering consultancy Bennett Associates has strengthened its design team with the appointment of David Price, a former top first class honours student from Sheffield University, as Design Engineer.
Mr Price, a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, joins the company after 10 years with Mandall Engineering as Project and subsequently Engineering Manager. His previous varied experience ranges from designer through to contract and installation manager mainly on moving bridges, waterways and flood defence projects for clients such as British Waterways and the Environment Agency.
Bennett Associates has recently been appointed by Robbins TBM to design the backup for two new £10m tunnelling machines which will create the ‘world's longest tunnel without intermediate access.’ Other major projects include the Airbus A380 ‘super-jumbo’, the Falkirk Wheel Boat Lift, the Gateshead Millennium Bridge and the Channel Tunnel. In 2004 the company was awarded a Gold Medal by the Institute of Materials for its work on the Airbus A380.
