Rotherham-based engineering consultancy Bennett Associates has
further strengthened its design team with the appointment of Felicity Clement, a
top first class honours student from Cambridge University, as Design Engineer.
Felicity joins Bennett Associates after graduating from Cambridge
University with a first class honours degree in mechanical and structural
engineering and a masters in mechanical engineering. She spent a year prior to
university working at Bennett Associates as part of the Year in Industry scheme
and was then sponsored through university.
This has allowed her to be involved in a wide variety of projects
over the past five years, including the bronze cone at the Greenwich Observatory
and the Glasgow Science Bridge. Felicity joins Bennett Associates with good
practical experience of the company.
As part of her masters course, she was chosen to undertake a year
long project working closely with the simulation department of a leading Formula
1 team to develop the computer simulated model of the car and investigate ways
of improving the speed and accuracy of the optimisation processes used on the
model
Bennett Associates has recently been appointed by Robbins TBM to
design the backup for two new Ø10m tunnelling machines which will create the
‘world's longest tunnel without intermediate access.’ Other major projects
include the Airbus A380 ‘super-jumbo’, the
Falkirk Wheel Boat Lift, the Gateshead
Millennium Bridge and the Channel
Tunnel. In 2004 the company was awarded a Gold Medal by the Institute of
Materials for its work on the Airbus A380. For more information, contact us on
