Responsibilities
Structural and Mechanical Design for all conveyors and supporting elevated gantries, bunker top floor and enclosure steelwork & bridging gantries, bifurcated diverter chutework and transfer/drive towers incorporating maintenance lifting equipment.
The plant also included primary crushers, full dust suppression equipment, GTUs, magnetic separators and tripper units for final distribution of coal into 21 silos within the 3 main bunker units.
This involved the production of detailed mechanical arrangement drawings to allow detailed fabrication drawings to be produced directly by a Malaysian Detailing House.
Full detailed manufacturing drawings for all of the coal plant gantry and tower structures were produced in the UK by structural steelwork design consultants employed under sub-contract by Bennett Associates.
Following Bennett Associates' two year involvement on the project the station successfully went on stream in 2002.
