The Maryport Lift Bridge allows pedestrians to cross part of Maryport Harbour reducing the time taken to get to the harbour master's office and marine berths.

Bennett Associates were contracted to provide the control software for Pennine Controls who were the electrical contractor for C. Spencer Ltd.

Wireless remote control of bridge from harbour master's office.
Two Mitsubishi PLCs used, one as the master in the plant room, the other as the slave in the control desk.
Combination of Human Machine Interface (HMI) and standard warning lamps provide feed back for operator.
Bridge monitored prior to and during operation by CCTV system.

Bennett Associates have a wide range of experience providing control software for moveable structures such as bridges, lock gates and other complex machines including the Airbus wing creep forming facility and waste digesters.
