Robert Jenkins Systems Ltd was contracted by Marathon Oil UK
Ltd to supply a fully integrated glycol regeneration package for the East Brae
Development Project. Bennett Associates worked closely with RJS's own in-house
design team to complete the package on time and to contractual weight
restrictions. This was a tribute to the team effort between the two
organisations, RJS and Bennett Associates.
Part of Bennett Associates' responsibility was to carry out the
complex pipe stress analysis. The service condition for some of the pipework was
up to 200 degrees centigrade; this necessitated the closest examination of load
cases including pressure and thermal movement within the system.
Bennett Associates was able to model the exacting conditions using
tried and tested engineering computer software, CAESAR II. The analysis assisted
the design team to produce the pipework and support design compliant with the
appropriate codes and standards.
The co-operation between Robert Jenkins and Bennett Associates in
relation to this project is nothing new and despite the fact that they have
their own in-house design team of undoubted reputation they have found
advantages in using the expertise of Bennett Associates to enhance the service
they offer to their clients.
